Andy Hurdman
Aka “The Grasshopper”
Early on as a child, Andy became interested in extreme sports. Enjoying activities like skateboarding, surfing, motocross and mountain biking kept him excited to wake up each morning. In 1997 Andy moved to Hawaii and was introduced to the new sport of kite surfing and the rest is history. Being in Maui at the birth of the sport of kite boarding allowed Andy the ability to create his own style of riding while networking with valuable members of the kite industry. For the past 9 years Andy has been kiting
professionally and Andy says “ I feel fortunate to have competed in the US pro tour, King of the Air – Red Bull, PKRA and other kite boarding contests where I had the opportunity to travel to many amazing places”. Continuing to pursue his passion for kite boarding, Andy became a certified instructor. Over the past many years Andy has been teaching kite boarding to all ages and all abilities while expanding his coaching to wakeboarding, surfing and off water cross training. “ I love interacting with people and teaching sports for which I have such a passion” Andy continues to be a innovative person within the kite boarding world.
Sean Reyngoudt
Born in Switzerland and raised in the Florida Keys, Sean has grown up on the water. As a kid you could always find Sean on the water enjoying some crazy adventure. When Sean was 20, the wheels of a forklift in a horrific accident at work that left both his feet crushed him. Unfortunately his left foot could not be saved and had to be amputated above his ankle. After a year of struggles and finally accepting his situation Sean was fitted with a prosthetic leg and was up and walking again. With his determined attitude he could once again be found on the water looking for the same adventures he enjoyed before his accident. Shortly after his friends made him try wakeboarding and to everyone’s surprise he was
doing flips and learning new tricks. The next challenge was the sport of kite boarding and once again, he surprised everyone. Sean has been a true inspiration to other amputees as well as able-bodied athletes. Sean took first place in the extremity games wakeboarding competition three years in a row. He has also taken 1st place in other kite boarding and wakeboarding competition while being the only amputee in such competitions. Sean has been a pro rider for many years and recently became a certified kite-boarding instructor so he can share the sport he loves with the world.
